Ian Fleming (1908–1964) is the world-famous novelist and creator of James Bond. He began his writing career as a Reuters journalist in the early 1930s. In 1939, he was selected to become a lieutenant in the Special Branch of the Royal Naval Volunteer Reserve, a rank he would eventually bestow upon his iconic James Bond character. His final James Bond novel was published posthumously in 1965.

He has written more 007 stories than any other Bond author. With permission from the Ian Fleming Trust, he and artist Yaroslav Horak wrote and illustrated 20 original James Bond comic strips for the Daily Express.
