Collecting issues #1-19 of King Conan (1980) this 776-page epic omnibus heralds a new era for Conan and features the creative talents of such luminaries as Roy Thomas, Doug Moench, John Buscema and Marc Silvestri.

From the battlefield to the throne room, from barbarian to legendary monarch, the timeless saga of Conan reaches the time when he at last became KING!

ALL HAIL KING CONAN!

Conan the barbarian, the thief, the mercenary,  and now… Conan the king!

A new era begins with adventures set after Conan has deposed the tyrant Numedides to become ruler of Aquilonia. But Conan on the throne is still Conan. The savage action that made him a comic book legend fills page after page, while palace intrigue adds a new level of drama with Queen Zenobia and Prince Conn, the heir to the throne, taking prominent roles. Old nemeses like Thoth-Amon return, and mystical prophecy ties Conan to the first king of the realm. Each issue is a double-sized extravaganza with scripts by the godfather of Conan comics, Roy Thomas, along with Doug Moench and Alan Zelenetz, and artwork by John Buscema and rising star Marc Silvestri.
ROY THOMAS joined Marvel as a writer and editor under Stan Lee, scripting key runs of nearly every Marvel title: The Amazing Spider-Man, The Avengers, Daredevil, Doctor Strange, The Sub-Mariner, Thor, The X-Men and more. He wrote the first ten years of Marvel’s Conan the Barbarian and Savage Sword of Conan; and launched the Defenders, Iron Fist, The Invaders and Warlock. At DC, he developed All-Star Squadron, Infinity Inc. and related titles, proving instrumental in reviving the Golden Age Justice Society of America. He co-scripted the sword-and-sorcery films Fire and Ice and Conan the Destroyer. Throughout it all, Thomas has edited the award-winning magazine Alter Ego, contributing heartily to the research and history of the medium.

DOUG MOENCH is an American comic book writer notable for his Batman work and as the creator of Black Mask, Moon Knight, Deathlok and Bane.

JOHN BUSCEMA Best known for his run on the series The Avengers and Silver Surfer, and for over 200 stories featuring the sword-and-sorcery hero Conan the Barbarian, which he took the pencilling from Barry Windsor-Smith. In addition, he pencilled at least one issue of nearly every major Marvel title, including long runs on two of the company's top magazines, Fantastic Four and Thor.

In 1978 he collaborated with Stan Lee to produce the book How to Draw Comics the Marvel Way which has never been out of print and still remains one of the best books available on the subject of drawing comics.

MARC SILVESTRI Comic book artist, creator and publisher. He began his professional career working for DC Comics on Ghosts, House of Mystery, Weird War Tales and Batman. He joined Marvel Comics in 1982 working on King Conan, X-Men Vs. Avengers, and then went on to draw Wolverine, Web of Spider-Man, Uncanny X-Men, New X-men, X-Factor, Master of Kung Fu, Incredible Hulk, and Cloak and Dagger. In 1992, Marc became one of the co-founders of Image Comics where he created Cyber Force.
