This is a pure rock and roll space opera featuring the legendary Jimi Hendrix as you’ve never seen him before.
Fully sanctioned by Experience Hendrix L.L.C.; Authentic Hendrix, LLC - this is the first ever full-length graphic novel inspired by the music of the legendary Jimi Hendrix – arguably the world’s greatest guitarist.
This 21st Century psychedelic rock ‘n’ roll odyssey sees Jimi Hendrix embark on a quest to the very centre of the universe in search of a magical talisman powerful enough to unlock the incredible latent power of his music so that he can share it with a universe starved of the rock ‘n’ roll by a tyrannical intergalactic force hellbent on silencing all music from the universe and enslaving all life.
“A SPELLBINDING GRAPHIC NOVEL.” Janie Hendrix
"COSMIC GOODNESS." Joseph P. Illidge (Harriet Tubman, The Winterfields)
"It’s a psychedelic space adventure filled with strange aliens, exotic destinations, futuristic technology, and, of course, Hendrix’s iconic music." AV Club
"It’s a psychedelic odyssey packed full of sharp, vivid characterisation and story telling courtesy of Mellow Brown and DJ Ben Ha Meen, and Tom Mandrake’s art is a jaw dropping journey into the heart of human imagination." Mass Movement
"A cosmic romp in a futuristic galaxy." The Beat
"Reading the graphic novel Jimi Hendrix: Purple Haze (Titan), is like experiencing Jimi Hendrix's music in its original setting. The art evokes the psychedelic style of the 1960s—especially the posters, comics, and science fiction novels of the time—and the story carries through the themes of Hendrix's music, with a musician traveling through intergalactic space to secure the talisman that will free the music and bring it back to the people." Publishers Weekly
"A gripping story seamlessly tied with some of the best artwork I've seen in a graphic novel in a long time!" Mark Reads Books
"It brings [Jimi Hendrix] back to life and we get to experience him and his music again in a brand new way." Cherry the Geek TV
"It’s simply put, an extraordinary work of art that melds past and future as well as being deeply reflective on the current state of this world." Rachel Read It
"A fine graphic novel with a powerful, beating heart. Recommended." Blue Book Balloon
"Artist Tom Mandrake does a fine job of creating an interstellar world while staying true to a powerful portrayal of Hendrix and his fellow traveller/musicians." Bud's Art Blog
"Spiritually, it's a cousin [to Heavy Metal Magazine]...with a 1960s icon recast as planetary saviour." Slings & Arrows
"This is beautiful work...The best way to enjoy this is to put on a medley of Hendrix solos whilst reading..." - GuitarMax
"So unique and original..." Jemima Rose
"[Artist] Tom Mandrake is a legend!" Craig Charles, BBC Radio 6
"JIMI HENDRIX: PURPLE HAZE is one of my favorite reads this year." BJ Kicks, Comics Are Dope
"An original and fun read from start to finish (and a 'must' for the legions of Jimi Hendrix fans!)" Midwest Book Review
