Lesley's career began in Graphic Design but she learned watercolour techniques from books. Having discovered a love for watercolour she found she enjoyed sharing her skills and began teaching Adult Education classes. There was little time for painting other than 'class prep', for some years. Lesley moved to Skye and opened a studio where she was able to spend more time painting as well as running classes and workshops for local people and visitors from the UK and overseas. She is now back in her home county of Derbyshire and continues to run workshops and classes. She has been featured in Skye Makers magazine and Paint & Draw magazine.
