Leo, Lola’s little brother, is back with a fun-filled day with Mom at the park!

A perfect everyday read-aloud for little ones, this playful spin-off of the best-selling Lola Reads series is sure to delight.

Leo is hot hot hot! So he and Mommy head to the park to cool down. There they meet up with Leo’s friend Yu and her mommy. The two toddlers dig in the sandbox, have fun on the swings, eat a picnic, and play on the splash pad to cool off. Vibrant art with warm and cool colors supports the underlying theme of a day full of hot and cold.
This welcome addition to the Leo Can! board book series features a familiar Black child and hismother. Leo and Mommy go to the park, where they find his friend Yu with her mother and herbaby brother. Leo and Yu enjoy the bouncy horses, the toddler swings, and the sandbox beforerunning through the sprinklers to cool off. After sharing a picnic, they head for home. The concisenarrative gives the book just enough structure, while the illustrations’ clarity of line, appealingcolors, and recognizable characters add vitality and warmth. Best of all, Leo’s latest story shows activities familiar to many children.
