The thrilling sci-fi horror franchise, Alien, returns to the big screen on August 16 with Alien: Romulus, an “interquel” set between the iconic first two installments of Alien (1979) and Aliens (1986). With themed popcorn buckets and new toys hitting the shelves, the buzz for the movie has already begun, and fans can’t wait for new extraterrestrial terrors to haunt their nightmares.
When a group of twenty-something colonizers and scavengers have an–ahem–unfortunate encounter with a Xenomorph inside an abandoned space station, they must fight for their lives against the vicious predators who only desire to hunt, breed, and kill. Fans of the original film–which birthed one of the greatest sci-fi heroines of all time, Ellen Ripley–will find plenty of nostalgic throwbacks, while new audiences will scream and squirm at the spine-chilling body horror of this legendary franchise.
